The Pomegranates are the fruit of the goddesses and symbolize women’s connection to fertility because of the seeds. When Persephone was detained in the underworld, she ate pomegranate seeds there. In fact, since the time of King Solomon, we have been drinking pomegranate juice.
Red Roses have always been a symbol for the goddess, symbolizing divine perfection. They were affixed above doorways to indicate that the conversation held within that room was strictly confidential, “sub-rosa”.
Doves have a deep symbolic connection to Aphrodite. They accompanied Aphrodite on her walks, engendering human passion and unity along the way- hence the Dove of Peace we know today.
